NEKEC-ICC brings together parents, educators, healthcare providers, and community leaders across six Northeast Kansas counties to ensure every child from birth to age five gets the support they need to thrive.

What we do:
Case management services to keep families together! As Family Preservation, through trauma-informed care we build upon family's strengths, teach new skills, and help them navigate hard times.
How to make a referral:
Our referrals come through DCF when a report has been made and identified as needing services. Families can self-report and request Family Preservation services but would still need to be assessed and identified as needing services.

We serve this population:
Prenatal; Infants and Toddlers (Birth to 3 Years Old); Preschool (3-5 Years Old); School-aged (5-18 Years Old); Caregivers and Families; Adults
What we do:
Gentle, whole-body bodywork designed to support babies, children, parents/adults experiencing tension & mobility challenges related to TOTs (tethered oral tissues), torticollis, feeding difficulties, sleep/airway challenges, colic, constipation, sinus/earaches, headaches, TMJ and more. Through Craniosacral Fascial Therapy and integrated techniques, we support the body's natural movement, regulation & connection - creating more space for bodies to move, breathe, feed and thrive.
Little bodies are constantly growing, adapting & finding their way. Sometimes they simply need a little extra support to find more space, softness, balance and ease.

What we do:
I work with the WIC program mainly, but I also have a monthly support group that's open to the public - all pregnant or breastfeeding mothers! I try to educate and encourage breastfeeding while women are pregnant and then come alongside them and assist them with their breastfeeding journey. Do they need a flange fit? Do they want a weighted feed? Is pain normal? Try to answer questions or point them in the direction of someone higher up, if needed.

Connecting the dots
across six counties.
NEKEC-ICC serves as the connective tissue between every organization in Northeast Kansas that touches the lives of young children and families.
Child Find & Outreach
We identify children birth to age five who may benefit from early childhood services — reaching families before a small concern becomes a bigger barrier.
Policy & Advocacy
We advise the lead agency on policy, resource development, and funding priorities — ensuring community voices shape early childhood decisions.
Developmental Screenings
We host free community screenings and baby showers across all six counties, connecting families to developmental resources right where they live.
Public Awareness
We raise awareness of early childhood resources, programs, and opportunities so families know what is available — and how to access it.
Systems Coordination
We coordinate between Infant Toddler Services (birth to 3) and Part B (preschool) services so children receive uninterrupted support through every transition.
Professional Development
We provide and share professional development opportunities across providers, educators, and agencies — raising the quality of care throughout the region.

NEKEC-ICC is not just a community initiative — it is a legal requirement under Kansas state law. Every community in Kansas is required to have a LICC dedicated to coordinating early intervention services.
"Each community shall have a local interagency coordinating council (LICC) that has as one of its purposes, the coordination of early intervention services for infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families."
